Born Learning

learning-422692_1280 copyBabies are born learning. Think about it, everything is new to them. It is our job to keep them stimulated and keep them learning.

Talk to your baby – it exposes them to more words. Language is learned through hearing their parents/grandparents/siblings, etc. talk to them. Studies have shown that children who are exposed to more words from being talked to, will enter kindergarten better prepared for their job of learning.

Reading to your baby stimulates their brain through your voice and through the pictures in the picture books. It is also a great time to bond with your child. Holding them and reading to them is beneficial for everyone. Babies love to be touched. Rocking them, holding them, massaging them are all ways of making them feel comforted and loved.

Your baby’s brain is developing even before birth. Talking to your baby is teaching your baby. And, we have all heard that parents are their first (and primary) teachers.
