Ice Cube Painting

Supplies:

Ice tray

Food Coloring

Heavy paper

Gallon sized baggie

Make colorful ice cubes by adding a few drops of food coloring in each section of your ice trays when making ice. Once frozen, put a sheet of heavy paper into the gallon baggie along with several of the ice cubes. Close the baggie. Now encourage your child to move the ice cubes around in the bag. Talk to your child about the colors of the ice, the coldness of the ice, and the shapes of the cubes. Once finished, remove the paper from the bag and allow it to dry. Be sure to display your child’s artwork where they can see it.
